Residential Architecture Services

We have an efficient and thorough process when it comes to providing residential architecture. Tom Withers Architecture provides the following services;-

Residential Planning & Design – Our architectural planning and design service encompasses all your requirements and preferences and we work with you to make your dream a reality. We want to strike the perfect balance between aesthetic and functionality because is there anything better than a property that looks amazing as well as has performance benefits? The simple answer to this question is no. Our residential architecture team takes a lot of pride in their work and will always communicate effectively with you as the client.

Extensions & Alterations – Extensions and alterations are a fantastic way to add something new and exciting to your current residential property. We specialise in this type of work so you’re in good hands if this is something you’re considering at the moment. You may want to build a garage, add a porch, or have a mega extension, we work on all these types of projects. If you contact residential architects about this then we’d be delighted to discuss your options as we have lots of expertise to find you a cost-effective and ideal solution.

Space PlanningSpace planning is vital in getting the most out of your residential space. Based on your requirements, our residential architecture team will offer our best solutions in terms of how we feel the space can best be used. Considerations include things such as lighting, heating, storage and so much more. You can rest assured that we will come up with multiple options and work with you to ensure you’re happy with the proposition.

ConversionsConversions are truly exciting projects to be a part of. When it comes to residential conversions you can do lots of different things. Some good examples are changing a loft into a bedroom, turning a garage into an extra living space, or even converting an old commercial space such as a mill into a residential space altogether. Once complete, the rewards you reap from taking on a residential conversion are wonderful.

What Is The Process Of Residential Architecture?

1.) A site visit will be arranged to carry out a full survey of your property to include measurements, key features, photos, videos, documentation, and important notes.

2.) This then leads nicely to the next stage where we use all this detail from the survey to create drawings, 3D models, and more depending on which package you’ve chosen.

3.) A full proposal will be submitted to you which you can review and give feedback on in a proper meeting. If you’re happy at this stage and want the build to go ahead, we will work on all the official paperwork involved in getting us closer to receiving planning permission.

4.) We’ll liaise with the appropriate governing bodies until approval has been granted. Once complete, we will then create a solid set of comprehensive drawings that will be issued to your building contractor of choice. They’ll price the work involved and we will continue to hold your hand through the process until work begins on-site.

Excellent work

We asked Tom and his team to assist with our project which was a 2 storey extension. They designed an excellent visualisation which took into account our needs and made excellent use of space to incorporate what we required. He assisted with planning permission and helped the builders achieve the vision. Excellent work and would highly recommend.

Residential Architecture – FAQs

This is a question that we are asked frequently, and for good reason too. In regard to sustainable design principles in residential architecture, there are a number of ideas that we can suggest and propose. Just a few examples may include; the use of renewable materials, passive heating, cooling strategies, efficient insulation, solar panels, and more.

This is why we offer the initial consultation so we can be sure of the full scope of the project at hand and the budget you have to work with. Our residential architecture team will work with you to develop a realistic cost estimate whilst monitoring expenses as construction progresses. There will never be any hidden costs that we only make you aware of at the end of the project.

There are some key considerations in residential architecture that cover the foundations of our work and what we hope to achieve for your home. The following are key considerations that are well entailed within our work; natural lighting, energy efficiency, material selection, structural integrity, and your specific request and requirements.

There are a multitude of different choices to consider when it comes to creating an open and spacious feel within your home. One key example is open floor plans which are high on the agenda for modern-day homes and spaces. Secondly, the use of large windows and glass partitioning is also growing in popularity.

There are a number of benefits that you’ll reap by using our architecture team for your residential project. One of the main benefits is that we are expected in design and space planning. These are two key elements of residential architecture and should be prioritised. Moreover, we have up-to-date knowledge of the latest building codes and regulations. Working with us will also ensure that you avoid any costly errors or mistakes that could result in financial loss.

One of our favourite ways of optimising natural light within residential settings is through the placement of windows and skylights. Moreover, the use of reflecting materials and the incorporation of light shelves may also be recommended if applicable.
